Kingman Desert Dash

Post by kodi30 on Sat Aug 10, 2013 6:54 pm

I set a PR today. Of course the only reason is I never ran a four mile race before. Very small field. Started with a 1.75 mile upgrade, which I don't do well with. The first 1/2 mile was on pavement and the next 3 was on a packed dirt trail which I didn't know about. Been struggling quite a bit with my running and we've been making adjustments to my pacemaker....enough excuses... My time was 55:15 missing my top estimate by 15 seconds but what I really hoped I could do was 54. Didn't like the age group for me, 60 and over and you all know I'm way ancient.! Nice race though.

Another great race Mel!

I hope I can do as well when I'm your age.

Thanks guys/gals. Rachel the race was in Kingman, 60 miles N of where I live. The elevations is about 3500 ft so somewhat higher and always cooler. At the start the temp was about 70º but the sun was bright and fairly intense.

70 is nice...and I'm thinking the humidity was pretty low too!
