Run from LA to Boston

Post by kodi30 on Thu May 30, 2013 4:22 pm

Has anyone else seen this? I'm signed up and will be running the last segment in CA that will end as the first segment in AZ. Looking forward to it. Some of our local running club will be running it with me so should be fun. Nice thing it goes right through our town but those segments filled before we knew about it so have to drive about 40 miles south but that's okay.

There was a spate of such things back in the 80s inspired by Terry Fox who ran across Canada (with a prosthetic leg) to raise money to fight cancer. I do remember seeing a couple Run Across America events along pretty much the same route. And there were several individual states that did it. Ohio, Illinois, Indiana? I formed a 30 person GE company team for the Run Across New York, 400+ miles from Buffalo to Albany some time in the mid 80s. Didn't get to run a leg of it myself since I was so busy with the logistics.
