Friends...

Post by Dave Tuttle on Sun May 19, 2013 5:26 pm

For me, this has turned out to be a lot more than meeting up to run a race together once a year... We've met so many great people and have made some very good friends over the years. Sometimes it even seems like my heart problem has been a blessing.

Since Diane and I met Mike and Vicki Nall in 2007 in Akron we've become good friends. In addition to working closely with Mike on this endeavor we try to get together several times throughout the year just to enjoy a day of fun. Mike is a busy guy and he doesn't get much down time for himself but yesterday he and Vicki made the 3 hour drive out here from Cleveland and arrived soon after Diane and I got home from her 1st 5K... They knew this was a very big day for Diane and they brought with them a really nice plaque Mike had made to commemorate Diane's 5K accomplishment... It meant SO much to her.

We talked and laughed until well after 9:00pm and then Mike and Vicki drove all the way back to Cleveland (they weren't able to spend the night due to a sick cat at home).

Special people and special friends. That is what this group is all about.

Oh my goodness, that IS what this is all about!!!

Last year at Baltimore my husband and I just couldn’t stop talking about how nice everyone is, and how I am so grateful for getting the opportunity to meet such wonderful people!!!

Thanks for sharing this, Nate and I are looking forward to meeting up with you and everyone again in NY!

Really sorry to hear about the sick cat – I know that those cats are their babies!

Thanks Dave. The feelings are definitely mutual. I should have stayed there and drank more wine. I think it suppresses the adrenaline receptors?
