First Race of 2016

Post by Tom price on Sun Jan 17, 2016 9:36 pm

I ran the Ringling Bridge a Run in Sarasota on Saturday. It's a 4 mile out and back course over the big Ringling bridge in downtown Sarasota. I shaved 16 seconds off last year, breaking 40 with a 39:58!

My first run of the year was on Jan 1st at the U. Albany campus. It's a half-marathon and 3.5 miler, which turned out to be more like 3.7, but who's counting. This was the 40th year, I've done 27, 23 of the shorter distance and 4 halfs.

I haven't run a step since. Taking some time off to try to heal whatever ails me. I have been swimming more meanwhile, so I joined the US Masters Swimming assn., and there is a local meet next Sat. I'm not ready to race just yet. I'm going to go to see what it's all about.

Running, push ups, shot put and now swimming. You're just a multi-talented guy, Jack.
