Hotel Stuff for October

Post by LMRun on Sun Mar 08, 2015 7:30 am

Well since Tutt locked the hotel thread, I'm starting a new one. Razz   I made our reservations the same day as the post and told by the hotel that I was getting one of the last rooms, 2 queens.  Who has registered and what did you get?  Cool

I looked at a map. There are only 4 hotels in Shepherdstown itself. Next closest, Comfort Suites, about 6 miles SW and 10-12 miles west by Rte 81 there are several with varying prices.

Sorry about locking that thread Louise... I pinned it to the hotel link in the new race info column on the right hand side of the forum and didn't want the reservation information to get buried.

We have 30 rooms in our block and I'm sure there are plenty left as of today but they may be running short of rooms with 2 queens. Other than our block of rooms the hotel is already pretty much full for that weekend.

We got 2 queens but we were the first to register... Better book early if you want any kind of choice!

Just booked...and looking forward to it!
We will get there Friday and leave Sunday.

I did ask about rooms and, like Dave said, I was told it was only the 2 queen rooms that were getting scarce.
But there are still plenty of room available for the group.

Now I have motivation to get my body in shape!

OK, call me freaking crazy, but I registered for the half. I haven't run one since way back in 2013. I booked a double room as well. The girl said all the singles are taken, so they must be saving everything they've got for us.

I reserved our room. I'm leaning toward the 10K at the moment.

You can switch your event later, certainly down at any time, but if you go up you have to pay the higher entry.

You are going to run great!!  It's only the middle of March and I'm already planning my strategy!

Can't wait to see everyone again

Post by Gary E on Mon Mar 16, 2015 11:34 pm

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Shepherdstown. I'll be driving down from Frederick MD (half-hour away) and bringing Linda, my daughter Carey, her husband, both grandchildren, and perhaps the in-laws (who actually graduated from the University there).

It's looking like we have a lot of our old friends coming to Shepherdstown

Who else is "in" and what distance are you running?

This sounds fantastic.  After such great time in Harrisburg, I would love to meet everyone again.  Count me as a "tentative" in.
Distance?  10K v. Half
