First run of 2015

Post by Tom price on Fri Jan 02, 2015 3:16 pm

First time I have run since 12/23.  Holidays....driving to North Carolina....playing with the grandkids.....more driving, to Sarasota.  So, we are all settled in and I decided to check out the neighborhood.  I only ran 2.5 miles, mainly because I got lost and accidently found the street our rental house is on!
shorts and t shirt, and I was still hot!

I do hope you carry a cell phone when in unfamiliar terrain? Personally, I just carry a bag of breadcrumbs to spread...and hope that there are no hungry critters in the area.

The act of doing is more valuable than the act itself.

I am jealous of the shorts/ t-shirt was we are starting a deep freeze here in the midwest. I was 2 below when I woke up this morning.

Yes, sounds like it's getting cold everywhere....so, on last nights news here, the weather person actually said we are going to get frigid temps here.....in the 40's!!!!!  Florida has a whole different definition of frigid temps than the rest of the country!

Hi Tom
Yes, it's nice to get the first run in for the year. Not trying to hijack your thread Tom but I think people would have a laugh at my first run for year! On Sunday (4th Jan) I ran my social club 5km x-country in (35degreesC)
I got as far as 3.5km, and decided that the weather had won! A few people caught me up, (handicap) and to my surprise they all started 'walking' behind me! When we got to the finish, I said to them "You crafty buggers, you didn't want me to get a better handicap, that's why you didn't pass" They looked at me in amazement and said "You must be joking, if haggis is walking, it really must be hot! (LOL)
See Yaas
Brian

PS: Going to try a jog today - 28C!
