Tulip Time 10K

Post by Rachel August on Sat May 04, 2013 1:48 pm

So I ran this morning just as if this was not a race, which is hard to do at a race!!! I ended up going slightly faster than I would have if I were out by myself – but I didn’t push it, I just ran at a very comfortable pace. I am thrilled with my time, I wasn’t even trying - I mean I felt super running out there – I ran it in 1:1:51

I was 306 out of 464 and 8th in my age group.

Great day, lots of fun, saw lots of friends (and tulips) can’t ask for any better!!!!

Rachel,
I'm glad you enjoyed the race. I hardly ever enter a race with a specific goal outside of finishing. I'm out there for fun. How you feel doing it is more important - and you felt great!

Well done. I wish I could do half as well. Except for a few winter club runs, I run as hard as I can in every race and at the end I'm happy with whatever I do even if it's a slow one.

If you had not worn the wooden shoes you could have finished quicker. Good Job!

Thanks everyone for your comments!!!! Really great to share with all of you and you all made me feel good!!!

I want to post a picture from the race.....but as is typical, my husband got a shot of the person next to me!

He really tried hard this time and he still couldn't get a picture. We took some pictures afterwards, I'll try to post one.
