excited about my university's athletics, but am obviously lacking in technology...

Post by Gary E on Thu Dec 11, 2014 8:21 am

Hi everyone. Sorry I missed an opportunity to chime in. I never see any postings in my inbox from all of you, so I guess it's just that I don't know enough about computers or websites to activate such notifications. I finally had to look up the address of this website in a small notebook that contains all my contacts. I tried searching on the internet for it, but kept getting links to the American Heart Association or newsfeeds on music and other assorted stuff.

If there is a better way to search for all of you please let me know...or just accept that I'm and old geezer that struggles with technology and give me a call someday.

Gary,

If you look at the top of this page to the right of where it says "Share" you will see several buttons with symbols on them... F, t, g+, @, and an orange one. Click the orange one and subscribe so it will notify you of new content here on the forum. That will keep you up to date with what's happening here.

Thanks, now I'm onboard

Dave, when I first glanced at your response, I immediately noticed all the "letters and symbols" in the second line and thought maybe the website was censoring your cussing. I did eventually find the buttons that you mentioned...and now am able to stay abreast of the marvelous insight all you put forth on a regular basis.  My only hope is to not bring the website down with my inane sense of humor.

You bet!  Just let us know when you are arriving.  Smile One small detail, the game is in Arlington, suburb of Dallas.

From the web: The Buckeyes advanced to play Oregon in the Jan. 12 national championship game at Arlington, Texas.

I forgot that Texas is a tad larger than...say, Rhode Island, so it might not be feasible, right?

I certainly wouldn't bet against Ohio State and their endless supply of talented quarterbacks. I hope they pull it off.

Well ya kinda got me there Big Dawg...and being as how I graduated from OSU not UofO my interest remains of the non-wagering level. AS to RI's level of competence in D-1 endeavors...we're a small fish in a rather large pond....We'll go toe to toe in sailing though!

Is that OSU as in Ohio State University or OSU as in Oregon State University?

Oregon State....the Beav's haven't been competitive in football for a while, it being the engineering side of the university system..as opposed to U of O's cultural and academic interests. Corvallis just ain't that attractive to recruits versus Eugene ( hey I moved to Eugene as soon as I could after graduation).

One of my brothers coached Ohio State's #54 in grade school. He is freshman offensive line member Billy Price. Billy is a former alter boy who still attends church when he is home in Austintown Ohio. My brother has attended several Ohio State games with his Dad. It should be a good game.

Very proud. Very Happy

Got to speak with Jeff H (Lost Viking from the C.A. site) at halftime. I still have the "duck quacker" that he sent me years ago...but it was my lucky buckeye that I took to our viewing party that won it for us.
