Austin Marathon and Half Marathon - February 2015

Post by Guest on Sun Oct 19, 2014 11:50 am

There's hills in this one!  Looks like the Austin Half Marathon in February is our next event.  Now that the cooler temps are here I should be able to get in some good training runs.

If you are interested in running with Dave and I, we would love to have you along for the run.  Dave's cousin Paul, from Virginia, is flying in to run the marathon.  We haven't seen Paul since the early '90s.

Good Times await you in Austin!!!   Very Happy

This race has a special place in my heart as the 2011 race was my first 1/2 marathon post AVR surgery. I would like to try and make this happen!

Don't know who is showing up for this but I opted for the half...Mrs. T and niece Becky are in for the 5K. I know Lil Tex is sidelined for the run but I think she might have a few other plans. Looks to be a wonderful respite from New England winter dodrums.

You will be glad you opted for the half when the full splits off. I memory serves me right, it was around mile 9 or 10 and as soon as the full split off they were faced with a pretty nasty hill.

I was hoping to make this race, but it is not going to fit into my schedule, especially since my new job has me traveling to London around the time of this race.

Good Luck!

We are having some beautiful weather here, 69 today, a couple of days in the 70s for this week. At this rate, February will be like Spring.
