Benton Rodeo Run

Post by twal on Sat Jul 19, 2014 6:33 pm

This was a small race held in conjunction with a rodeo. Only 24 runners in the 6 miler and more in the 5K and walk.

I only did 52:43 (8:47/mi) for 6 mi to finish 12th (3 out of 3 in 60+) but you need to understand the course. The first 1.5 and last 1.5 are flat, the second 1.5 goes up a brutal 400 ft. hill. (I did some walking) and the third 1.5 is a screaming downhill. My splits tell the story.

1- 8:21
2 - 9:42
3 - 10:49
4 - 7:32
5 - 8:02
6 - 8:21

Dee (wife) jumped into the 3.5 mi. walk and was the first woman. She got a bigger trophy than anything I ever won. I'm jealous.
