Race St. Run

Post by twal on Sat Jul 05, 2014 4:09 pm

I ran the Race St. Run in Jim Thorpe, Pa today.

It was 4 miles, mostly on trails with the first half up and second half down (about 300 ft. of climbing). You can see that in my mile splits

1-9:17
2-9:33
3-8:10
4-7:10

I was second in the 60-64 age group and about 25th overall.

The main thing I remember about this race was a really hard fall I took about half way though. I busted up my knee, hands, shoulder and face. But I got right up and finished. Had to spend some time in the ambulance afterward (not good to be on blood thinners). Here's the link to some pictures.

Ok, this is not how to place in your age group.  Wink  I would have got up an finished too, good EMS coverage and they cleaned you up before letting you go home.

Hi twal
Good to see that you are a 'battler'. Sorry about fall, but glad you got up and kept going.
You have a good 'style' for someone your age - good leg bend and lift.
See Ya
Brian

Re: brawl. My usual line this week will be "You should see the other guy."  Wink

Today I feel like I got hit by a bus.

reminds me of my XC days...you can always wow the coach with a bloody appendage or two. Nice race (esp that last split...smokin').

Hope yer healing well.
