Hello old friends, Its "The New Me" from CA. It has been a loooong time since I've posted anything anywhere in the forum worlds for a multitude of reasons. Since the passing of my sister at the end of 2012, I've embarked on a tremendous project. Her passing presented me with the opportunity to move into the family home, where my children would be the 5th generation to reside there. Not enough bedrooms, old mechanical systems and general problems associated with a 102 year old home made in a difficult choice, but one I could not pass up. After untold hours of work, I find myself roughly 2/3 done. My nights and weekends belong to my chance to set this house straight for the next generation and I find it incredibly rewarding. I also find it rejuvenating returning to a place of memories of better, younger, healthier times,

Despite my hectic life this has created, I still run regularly. I even ran the 10 miler in Philly just 5 months after major foot reconstruction surgery last year. I just ran it again in May and followed it up with my 4th half marathon. My total miles per month are down, but I think I'm doing less wear and tear than I was before.

I had to check in and thank everyone here for all the help and advice throughout the last 5 years since my MI, especially after I was notified last week that I will be one of the Medtronic Global Heroes this fall. I couldn't be more excited. I know it wouldn't have happened if not for the life I found through the support many of you and I can't thank you all enough.
