Delaware Marathon and Ebright Azimuth

Post by echoguy on Mon May 12, 2014 6:55 am

Hey Everybody:

I ran the Delaware Marathon in Wilmington yesterday morning on a warm but very pleasant morning to run.

In the middle miles, I got behind on my nutrition and had to slow a good bit on the hills. I was running for a while with a guy named Keith or Kevin who runs lots of races in a pink tutu. I had remembered seeing pictures of him at Badwater last year. Interesting guy. Anyway, when he pulled ahead of me (yes, I got beat by a guy in a pink tutu) I realized it was mile 15 and I had not taken a gel since mile 5....ooops. Once I got my energy stores back up, and the course headed down hill, I was able to put in my fastest miles in the last few. Finished in 3:37:54. Just a few minutes slower than Boston three weeks ago.

After the race I headed to the highest point of Delaware, Ebright Azimuth. That is state marathon and state highpoint in the same day #5.

EXCELLENT!!!! Great race, Brian!!!

And pretty cool that you got to conquer another state highpoint. Great picture!
How many more states to go?

Louise may want to hook up with the tutu guy.  Laughing
