Heart Mini Dinner Plans

Post by echoguy on Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:34 am

Hey Everybody:

Dave has counted 17 folks who will be in town Friday evening and we have decided to try to get together for dinner on Friday as well as Saturday. I have made dinner reservations at Moerlein Lager House for 17 at 6:30 pm. It is located about 6 blocks from the hotel. This is a very popular newer Cincinnati spot. It is across the street from Great American Ball Park and the Reds Hall of Fame (sadly only open until 5)

On Saturday we have a group of 25 meeting at the traditional Saturday dinner spot for our group, Brio's. It is a short walk across the river in Newport, KY.

Sunday after the race the venue has changed. This year the reception is at the Taft Center. This is not a restaurant like in years past, but I am sure they will have similar refreshments. You will be getting this invitation in the mail soon with wristbands to allow you to enter.

SUNDAY, MARCH 16TH
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

TAFT CENTER
425 Walnut Street, 2nd Floor
Cincinnati, Ohio 45202

Located in US Bank Tower, enter via 5th St. or Walnut St.
Please wear the enclosed wrist band to gain access to the reception.

Looking forward to seeing many of you here soon!!

Happy trails,

Brian

I also wanted to mention some options of things to do while you are in Cincinnati for the weekend.

At the Museum Center is an exhibit of Princess Di called Diana - A Celebration. They had a photo in our paper of her wedding dress, so I guess they will have some pretty cool stuff. (would be a drive from the hotel)

The Ringling Brothers Circus is in town and is close by the hotel.

The St Pat Festivities are right outside the hotel on Fountain Square from 10 am to 10 pm.

The Flower Conservatory or the Zoo are both excellent in Cincinnati.

There is a walking history tour at 10:30. It would be best to drive to the tour as the neighborhood to get there is not the best. http://www.americanlegacytours.com/queen-city-underground/

Just some food for thought.
