Motivational and Light Hearted Thread

Post by Guest on Sun Feb 23, 2014 11:01 am

So I was thinking, (oh no she's thinking and coming up with crazy ideas, Rolling Eyes ) I find these motivational and light hearted items on the net every once in a while and I really like the "Life in the day of a runner."  Why not share with HEART and start a trend of members posting interesting items they find and share it with the group.

Let's see how long this thread can go, post your motivation, inspire others.

If I weren't such a somber and cerebral type, I might enjoy these too.

#1, me too! I'm in the South so not so cold, although, we had ice on Monday night, Tuesday morning, lightning and thunder too.  Mother Nature is angry.  What's that saying March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb......

Click on the link What Moves You, good vid that describes all of us athletes, not just runners.

Great video - What Moves You....

1). Looking forward to seeing all of you!

2). Peace during and after my runs – it is the only time in my day when I feel REALLY good!

Side note:
I’ll be happy with a 20 degree day in Cinci – 20 or higher – don’t care!

Don't let Louise kid you!!! The only ice they get down there is what they put in their drinks.

This week's pick is for our Tri athletes:

I hope you all are enjoying Day 3 of Spring!  Trees in bloom, live oaks dropping their leaves (they do that in March), grass sprouting (at least it is here), and flowering shrubs bursting in color.

Get out there and enjoy the beauty! Take your allergy meds first.   Smile

Ummm....we've still got at least a couple of feet of snow on the ground.....but it's encouraging to hear that at least somewhere in the world spring has arrived!!!!

Really like your latest motivational caption - funny!

The snow Rachel was referring to caused MSU's baseball team to play their "home" weekend series against the Buckeyes...on the road...five hours away in Columbus!

See????? That's why we here in Michigan are SO tough......why play in the snow....that's clearly for wimps compared to the courage it takes to enter enemy territory down in Ohio!!!

This pic is one that I can relate to.  My first 1/2 marathon years ago.  Another time was after the Marine Corp Marathon in '96.

Louise, I must take exception to your latest avatar. My life, and the lives of those looking at me, would definitely not "be better" if I wore a tutu.

Where do you find all these things anyway?

I search for motivational running stuff to keep myself motivated.  Self magazine ran an article last month on a brain cancer survivor who ran a marathon, they made fun of her wearing a tutu.  Well a campaign has begun, virtual, for folks to run in a tutu  Tutu Campaign.  The avatar pic was on pinterest and I liked it so I am borrowing it.  I still follow Life in the day of a Runner, LIDR-Facebook.  The gal there has a lot of cool stuff to motivate folks.
