My Second Chance

Post by Dave Tuttle on Mon Feb 17, 2014 3:32 pm

15 years ago today was the beginning of my second chance at life... I probably never will figure out how or why I was so fortunate to survive but I am truly thankful for each new day, for those close to me (and that includes you all here), and for what I have learned about life through this experience.

15 yrs is a good milestone. As I passed each 5 yr increment I wrote an article for the local road runners club. It was a surprise to all that I managed to run again after the initial surgery and even more as I continued. It made them feel they too could overcome heart issues should they ever have them.

I found also the the running population is very fluid and every 5 yrs a large proportion of the club is new and has never heard the story or any story like it. So maybe you should write about it for your local runners club.
