Team Leader

Post by Rachel August on Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:13 pm

Just wanted to share that I’ve been selected by my local running group to be one of the team leaders for new runners running in their first 5K!!!! I’m THRILLED to be a part of this!!!! (They even gave me a PINK Gazelle Girl jacket)

Our first run was this morning – 11 degree morning – but sunny…..and although we’re only seeing pavement around here about 5% of the time – those runners were out there giving it a shot – they’ve totally inspired me!!!! Yeah.......and that would mean that I've got to get off the TM!!!!

Their goal races are coming in May….hopefully some of our snow will be gone by then!

Nice swag, but I'm sure there must be some Spartan green worn underneath.

P.S. I'm still religiously using my "motivator" drinking glass until our next gridiron meeting in the fall.

Fabulous response, Bill!!!

To further clarify, Rachel and I were phoning each other as our respective alma mater prepared for the conference championship in football this past year. When my beloved Buckeyes were trounced by her Spartans, she sent me several items with the MSU logo.

I promised I would DRINK out of a glass with such a prominent design each day until OSU has a chance to redeem itself. Bill, being the consumate Wolverine fan, (and knowing there is also somewhat of a rivalry between our schools too...at least prior to the last decade or so  Wink ) decided to chime in with his questioning of my real intent.

As of now, I'm still using it as a beverage holder...but should we lose again next year...

Thanks everyone!!! Happy to be helping out new runners in some way - and VERY happy that Gary is DRINKING out of his "motivator" drinking glass.....but I'm thinking he'll still need 24/7 surveillance......especially if someone hands him some Cheese Puffs in Cinci!
