Fontana Half

Post by kodi30 on Thu Apr 18, 2013 7:34 pm

I've been running this race off and on for quite a few years. It is billed as the fastest half marathon, in it's 58th year. It is totally downhill...except for a little bump in the road at about mile 6. First part is quite steep and fast. Hoping to get somewhere about 2:40-2:45. Last year was 1st in my age group and this year I'm in a new age group. Race isn't until June 1. Might do a 10K in May but not committed yet.

Sounds like a first place for sure!!

Where is the race?
In June, they'd be dropping like flies here in the South.

It's in So Cal. It starts up in the foothils and can be fairly cool at the start but heats up coming down thru the canyons into town. I live in the AZ desert and when I do long runs I usually start 4:30 or 5:00AM. Of course in AZ they say it's a dry heat. Smile
