Advocating For Heart Health

Post by Admin on Wed Feb 05, 2014 5:48 pm

Just want to recognize one of our own who is doing an outstanding job of advocating for heart health and awareness in many different ways... As you know Rachel has been working with the AHA's Go Red For Women campaign and this interview was aired on the local Grand Rapids Fox TV station.

Great job, Rach!!! In your honor, I will proudly wear red tomorrow. As you undoubtedly know, I have quite a wardrobe in a shade of that color called scarlet (trimmed in gray, of course).

You guys are probably getting pretty sick of seeing me.....but don't worry - February is almost over! My talk for the West Michigan division of the AHA is tomorrow and so today I was featured on the FRONT page of my local paper!

We'll never get sick of one of our own working so hard to raise awareness for such a deadly and under recognized health threat Rachel... Good luck with your presentation tomorrow!!

Thanks Dave!!!

We've got another terrible winter day here - my husband just called me from the expressway going into GR - he said there's white-out conditions and the wind chill is negative 20 degrees!

GR is only 40 min away - but I'm planning to leave my house soon (probably close to 6:30am) so I can get there by 9:30! I'm going to be wearing my boots and jeans for the ride in and I'll change into heels and dress at the venue.

I hope I don't get stuck!!! But if I do - I'll have to flag down some help with my red shoe!!!

You are now my favorite "Pin-up Gal", replacing the Farrah Fawcett one from my dorm room in '65.
