Very Happy "Biggest Loser" type week Very Happy I made a big dent in my Disney buffet's weight - Hey when I pay $52 for a Disney style (expensive) "Pasta in the Park" party, I eat $52 worth of Pasta (that's a lot of Pasta) - That restaurant in Disney's Italy and the German Buffet the night before the marathon weren't low calorie meals either.

Finally back to the 160's - 168 this morning (post Y workout) so that's officially a "Biggest Loser" loss of 7 lbs for the week - we'll find out how much was water if I gain next week but I'm counting it for now Smile

PS - I guess shivering in the -20'sF in MN burns more calories than sweating in the 80's in FL.

I haven't checked in the past two Monday's since my weight was up again after my "biggest loser week"  - but finally making a little progress.  This Disney weight is harder to lose than I was hoping  Mad
My weight after my 13 miler this morning is at 166.8 - this is also after my longest running mileage week in about 2 years.  (In 1st place on the LogArun 50+ leaderboard this morning  Smile   )

166.2 Today - only down .6 in 2 weeks but down is still the right direction!  It is getting harder.  Surprised

Since it's a new year - Time for a new weight loss challenge (unfortunately) -  If anyone wants to join me that would be great.

Weight is a never ending challenge for me - I looked back through this thread and found I hit my lowest weight on Jan 6th 2014 with a report of 164.4  - this morning, a year later I'm back up to 189 Crying or Very sad

So my Goal is to lose 25 and get back to that 164 !!  I'll just use this thread to post my weekly progress unless others want to start a new challenge.

I'm in Don... 172 today and my goal is 160. I've gained back everything I lost last year. I can't expect my aching knee to improve if I'm beating it up with extra weight Evil or Very Mad

I'm in! Starting weight was 160.0 on the 1st (down two and a half lbs since Christmas weekend) and already I've lost a massive one-tenth of a pound with today's weigh-in...so watch out.  I'm shooting to get under 150 by spring and at least the 145 range by "shirtless season" (not a good image is it? Sorry about that).

No! In fact there is an image of us frolicking in an Adirondack lake that is floating around in cyberspace Embarassed We were younger and prettier then and it's still not a good look.

WLC has never been my thing, but I have gained 7 lbs since the Bourbon Chase. I like to keep a roll of flab around my middle to help with my swimming, but too much of it taxes my weak heart when I try to run. I have not been eating enough of my own cooking.

Does that really help? If so, I just microwaved a bowl of oatmeal.

I'm in also. I only need to lose 10 lbs, but every year it becomes harder for me. I'm at 145 now, and want to be down to 139 by March 1st, and 135 by May 1st.

What day is weigh in Don?

171.4 today.

Looks like a good challenge group this time around but since Gary seems to be cooking "from scratch" at home now rather than eating exclusively in the fast food joints I'm a little worried. I sure hope his microwave can take the strain...

Dave, Let's do a weekly Sat-Sunday weigh-in.  I'm a little slow on reporting my weight since I've started out in the wrong direction.  January 1st I was 189 and this morning I was at 191 - 2 pound gain.  I'm still trying to finish off the Christmas cookies and candy Mad   Ran 57 miles 2 weeks in a row but was done in by cookies!

Looks like we have a good group of losers/gainers -  I'll try to compile a results list on Mondays - but if I don't, just keep reporting and good luck!! Very Happy

major move in wrong direction

Post by Gary E on Wed Jan 14, 2015 8:09 am

A knee injury sustained in a pick-up basketball game (it's too long of a story to go into at present) has rendered me inactive for a fifth day now. Consequently, I've been very aggressive with my food intake to compensate for the inability to exercise. This morning was my first visit to the gym (where a scale is located) resulted in a 165.9 reading.

I obviously do not cope well with adversity!!!

Your stew looks delicious, and yes it looks like worms, what is that?

Idea: share recipes with folks for the challenge? The hardest part of these things is changing my eating habits.
