One Week After Syracuse

Post by kcy1998 on Sun Oct 27, 2013 4:20 pm

A week ago at this time several of us were leaving the restaurant in Syracuse. The HEART 2013 gathering had ended. It was a great time.
At Syracuse it was a 13.1 mile run. This past Saturday it was only 8 miles. I took it easy. The 8 miles was run with the Half Training Team. The 13.1 was run with Dave. The guy is a machine. Nothing is going to stop Dave when he decides to do it.
Running the streets of Richmond was not as scenic as lake Onondaga. But Richmond was warmer and not as windy as Syracuse.
Richmond did have two advantages.
1) I was able to sleep in my own bed on Friday night
2) Travel time to and from the course was only 20 minutes
The best thing about Syracuse was HEART. It is the people that make HEART. Most of us only communicate via the forums. It was great to have actual contact with everyone.
But it is back to the regular routine.
Thx,
kevin

It was great seeing you again Kevin and great running the half with you too. I really enjoyed it except for that pulled muscle and now I know why you're a natural at coaching your runners.... The late lunch after the race at Pier 57 was a lot of fun too. We got a lot more time with everyone this year and that was good.

It's always a big let down for me once race weekend is over... It seems so long until the next one.

well the 'dance card' doesn't have to have just one waltz....

There's a midnite sun thing in June...need a passport for that one...

The Mini in March...

And for those that want to channel their inner James Taylor...the Martha's Vineyard 20 miler goes off in Feb.

I'll be signing up for Burlington VT for Memorial Day W/E, which is a 'roots' event for the meet up crowd and really a nicely run event.

Granted there's some scheckels involved.....but I say ya can't take it with ya.
