Little Miami River Trail

Post by RoadKillBill on Mon Oct 14, 2013 6:42 am

My wife and I had planned to ride Ohio's Little Miami River Trail last spring, but we ended up on Michigan's White Pine Trail instead.  This past weekend we dusted off the original plan and rode from Springfield, OH to Milford, OH on Friday, spent the night and rode back on Saturday.  Thanks to Brian for advice to spend the night in Milford (suburb of Cincinnati) - nice little town!  The trail is a real gem - 70+ miles of smooth asphalt on a litter-free, wooded course that passes through quaint small towns.  We had spectacular weather.  Skies were crystal clear.  Mornings were chilly, but afternoons approached summertime temps.  Wonderful weekend, sad to think that may be the last big outing of the year due to impending crummy weather and loss of daylight Sad .  I guess it's about time to switch to gym rat mode.

I agree with the others--it sounds like a beautiful ride. Glad you got the added plus of great weather to do it in.

Wish I would have known about this earlier as Linda and I would have driven down to see you guys. We've run portions of that trail before and do quite a bit of hiking farther up near the Yellow Springs section.

I know you think, being from that state up north and having a daughter in the band of some school that wears awful colors, that you have to sneak across the border. Well that just isn't true. On the sabbath we forgive those shortcomings and welcome you with open arms.

Gary really.....I'm pretty sure that Bill and I need either a passport or a sneaky friend in order to cross our Southern borders.....way to go Bill!

But it's nice to know of your kind forgiveness.....just remember....my blood bleeds GREEN and I pose no threat.....

Of course - I'm sure you were all watching the MSU game yesterday...... 2014 baby!!!

You have inspired me to enhance our logo.

Keep an eye out for our holiday card this year - yours will have a nice family portrait of us that you can put on your piano.
