New HEART Web Site And Logo

Post by Admin on Fri Oct 04, 2013 12:02 pm

As you see at the top of the forum home page we have a cool new logo for HEART...

Bill Cobit has been helping out with some behind the scenes optimization of the forum and when he learned that we were looking for something new in a HEART logo which would be both visually catchy and express our ethos, he designed this new logo graphic...

The Motto "Stronger In The Broken Places" was Laura's adaption of an Ernest Hemmingway quote that she had printed on the race jackets she gave all of us at the Harrisburg gathering in 2010. We felt it described this group perfectly and it really needed to be part of our new logo.

We want to thank Bill for his graphic design work and Laura for the motto. Through their contributions the new logo will identify HEART to the public in a very positive way.

And there's more....

We've been discussing the need for a formal web page to serve as HEART's  front door for a long time. Something that would present HEART in a clean professional way to the public as well as to the orginizations we work with while also serving as a portal for new visitors to reach our forum. Well, as Bill was working on our forum he also put together this really nice web page for us:

The logo at the top of the forum will also take you to the web site if you click it...

We are very excited for the improved visibility and image that this web page gives HEART and again we thank Bill for his outstanding efforts on our group's behalf.

Please share the new web site with any and all who might be interested.

Thanks for doing all this guys. I really like it.

You made me curious to look up the Hemingway quote, and here is what I found.

“The world breaks everyone,” Hemingway wrote, “and afterwards, many are strong at the broken places.”

addendum.....looked even further to try to get the context. Guess I will have to read all of A Farewell to Arms, because the paragraph around this quote does get a bit sticky.

Thanks, all. FYI the logo is just some simple powerpoint, so we can readily isolate the text and ecg wave from the red background and resize or change the colors if that facilitates use of the logo on a shirt/poster/leaflet. I also have a smartphone barcode to the site URL.

They're called QR codes for Quick Response. It can include any text you want, not just a URL. You can make one here: WWW.GOQR.ME
