Echoguy September Racing

Post by echoguy on Sat Sep 28, 2013 1:46 pm

Hey Everybody:

We traveled last weekend to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to hike and run. The weather was perfect for the whole trip and we had a wonderful time. I downloaded several photos to Flickr! and here is the link.

The marathon was one of the most beautiful marathons that I have ever run. It was all run on the piedmont at the base of the mountains so it was very flat. The views of the Tetons were spectacular!! I went out with the intention of running 3:40, but ran out of motivation around mile 20 so I ended up cruising in around 3:48. Nothing hurt, just wanted to be able to hike some more with the rest of our vacation.

Since I did not go all out for the marathon, I decided during the week to go ahead and run a relatively new half marathon in Adams County just east of Cincinnati this weekend. It is an Amish themed race that is very hilly. My goal was to beat my post op PR of 1:47 from two years ago at a flat race. We again had perfect running conditions and I ran all out. Finished in 1:39 and got a nice Amish basket as an age group award. Feeling great and looking forward to lots of running this fall.

WOW!!!! First - BEAUTIFUL pictures Brian - that place is spectacular - and sounds like it's easy to get caught up in all that while running! Second - congrats on winning your age group in the half! (plus you got a basket - nice)!

I'm so happy that you're doing so well - may our cows continue to run for a very very long time!

You have had a great year of running!  Congrats on your marathon.  I like the beard too!Very Happy

Beautiful pics!  We were going to visit Jackson Hole two years ago, I always wanted to go to Wyoming ever since my husband's soldiers guarded Cheney's Ranch, not long after 9-11.

I showed my husband your pics, maybe we'll go next year!  Did you see any bears?
