Park 2 Park

Post by Rachel August on Sun Sep 22, 2013 11:51 am

I hesitate to post this one - but I MIGHT run in my local half this Saturday....I hesitate because I went out for a 8.5 mile run yesterday and although I held a 9:30 pace - my legs were dying by mile 7 (still not recovered from Bridge Run - and maybe I should eat better.... five crackers and a beer the night before didn't cut it)
Also - this run goes along the beach and these were the conditions last year- (and yeah, that's the only "tree" left on this beach.....)

Coastal eco-tones can be rather dynamic....

And crackers and beer...thinking that didn't meet pre-run caloric needs.

Looks like a pretty run. Although that tree does not look like it will last much longer.

Have a few more crackers and a couple more beers....and enjoy the run. Very Happy

Never tried it, but I understand that fortifying the beer with raw eggs is the proper way to use beer as pre-race nutrition.

GO FOR IT RACHEL!!! cheers

You should have your energy back by the weekend but you really should eat something other than beer and crackers.

Beer is a recovery drink not fuel drunken

Coffee before a race. Water during. Beer after. Oh yeah, and many port-a-potty stops.
